Our distinguished guest, Bilen Işıktaş, who has completed a year-long research and training program at Harvard University’s Department of Music, joins us to explore the theme “Thinking About and Interpreting Music.” During her time in the United States, our professor—who has given seminars, concerts, and recitals and delivered presentations not only at Harvard University but also at prestigious institutions such as Northeastern, MIT, the New England Conservatory, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art—will share her expertise with us. At this special event on June 9, we will explore the legacy of Turkish music, the transformation of early sound recording technologies, migration, sociology, and cultural interaction, as well as the musical bridges built between the United States and Turkey from a multifaceted perspective.
